1. Purpose
This Cancellation Policy explains how customers may cancel Next Step SA services and what happens after cancellation. Next Step SA operates as a subsidiary of CodeSync, with CodeSync acting as the main company responsible for administration, billing and policy oversight.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all paid Next Step SA services, including subscriptions, employer packages, job listings, featured listings, account upgrades, once-off setup fees, recruitment-related services and any other paid digital platform services.
3. Cancellation requests
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to CodeSync / Next Step SA. The request must clearly identify the customer, account, service being cancelled, and the preferred cancellation date where applicable.
4. Subscription cancellations
- Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled by giving written notice before the next billing date.
- Annual or fixed-term subscriptions remain active until the end of the paid subscription period unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.
- Cancellation stops future renewals or billing but does not automatically create a refund for the unused portion of the subscription unless a refund is approved under the Refund Policy.
- Customers remain responsible for any outstanding amounts already due before the cancellation date.
5. Fixed-term agreements and reasonable notice
Where a service is provided under a fixed-term agreement, CodeSync / Next Step SA may require reasonable notice for cancellation and may charge reasonable amounts for services already provided, costs already incurred, third-party commitments, or administrative work already completed, subject to applicable law.
6. Cancellation of listings or paid features
- Paid listings, featured listings, advertisements, promoted posts or similar digital features may be cancelled for future display where technically possible.
- If the listing or feature has already gone live, been displayed, promoted, accessed or used, fees may remain payable.
- Removal of content does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund.
7. Immediate suspension or termination by CodeSync / Next Step SA
CodeSync / Next Step SA may suspend or terminate an account, listing, subscription or service immediately where there is reasonable evidence of:
- False, misleading or fraudulent information
- Unlawful, harmful, discriminatory or abusive conduct
- Spam, scraping, data misuse or platform abuse
- Non-payment or repeated failed payment attempts
- Breach of platform terms, privacy rules or acceptable use requirements
8. Effect of cancellation
- Access to paid features may end on the effective cancellation date or at the end of the paid billing period, depending on the service type.
- Public-facing listings or content may be removed or deactivated.
- The customer remains responsible for downloading or saving any information they require before cancellation, where available.
- CodeSync / Next Step SA may retain records where required for accounting, legal, security or operational purposes.
9. Renewals
Where automatic renewal or recurring billing applies, the customer must cancel before the next billing date to avoid the next charge. If cancellation is received after billing has already been processed, the cancellation may only apply from the next billing cycle unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
10. No guaranteed results
Cancellation based solely on lack of leads, applications, placements, interviews, responses or business outcomes does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund. Next Step SA provides access, visibility and platform functionality, but cannot guarantee third-party responses or outcomes.
11. How to cancel
Cancellation requests should be sent to CodeSync / Next Step SA and should include:
- Customer name and company name, where applicable
- Registered account email address
- Invoice number or subscription reference
- Service or package to be cancelled
- Reason for cancellation, where the customer is willing to provide it
12. Confirmation of cancellation
A cancellation will only be considered confirmed once CodeSync / Next Step SA has issued written confirmation. Customers should retain this confirmation for their records.
